Ashram Residency
An Ashram is a spiritual retreat where a teacher lives and teaches. This ashram represents CSGSY's ultimate goal for living a yogic lifestyle in the midst of an urban environment.
When you move into an ashram you should really work to leave your "stuff behind", and use this more spartan opportunity to focus your energy in the direction of your spiritual growth.

A stronger ability to connect the practice to your daily activities. You come home from work, and your practice is right there waiting for you.
Learning different ways to practice, living with others from the heart, art projects, and cooking. You will develop skills for living a very diverse yogic life full of many types of practice.

CSGSY is has recently outgrown it's three-flat apartment and is looking for a larger residential community devoted to yogic pursuits. We are currently seeking donations to secure a more permanent space. Please feel free to contribute in person at Chi-Town Shakti or by mail (make all checks payable to CSGSY and mail to 1343 W Devon Ave Chicago, IL 60660). Web contributions will also be accepted, so stay tuned.
Our rented housing will continue to be the CSGSY Ashram while we continue to seek the funding necessary to purchase a more permanent structure.
